Today we hear from others at the forum, called to support students struggling to respond to President Trump’s dismantling of DACA, the program that allows young men and women brought to this country as children to work and study here without fear of deportation. THIS JUST IN: Unidos por un Sueño / United for a Dream, a fundraiser for DACA recipients will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday, October 1 at Nopalito restaurant in Petaluma.

"This is a gathering to raise the funds for applicants who might not be able to afford the $495 (DACA) renewal fee in time for the coming deadline of October 5.

"Nopalito, a local & traditional Mexican restaurant, is generously giving a portion of its proceeds to this cause. There will also be baked goods, wine, and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses & community members; 100 percent of these proceeds will go to DACA recipients and their families.

"The event is organized by members of Together We Will Stand Indivisible, Petaluma & Petaluma's Rapid Response Network."
