The U-S Department of Justice carried out a law‑enforcement operation in Rohnert Park early this morning — that’s according to the Rohnert Park Police Department. Police confirm to KRCB News the agency involved was the DOJ, not Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

A federal operation took place around 333 Enterprise Drive in Rohnert Park at the Lenox apartments.

Tenants who say they witnessed the response — and videos that appear to show the scene — describe a large law‑enforcement presence.

Mary Liakos lives in the building and says the activity woke her up. "I was awakened at about 6:20 by a loud explosion," Liakos said.

She says she saw smoke and heard officers announce themselves before entering, though she wasn’t sure which unit they went into. Liakos estimated roughly fourteen vehicles surrounding the building and between twenty and thirty officers entering.

"Then they started bringing weapons out, and then they sent dogs in," Liakos said. "The dogs were coming out with what looked like bomb‑detection stuff in their mouths. They had riot gear on. They were all brandishing their weapons."

Liakos said she recognized two of the people being led out in handcuffs. KRCB News has not independently confirmed their identities or whether they were detained or arrested.

Liakos said the operation lasted several hours and wrapped up shortly before she spoke with KRCB News mid-morning. Liakos also says she noticed helicopters and searchlights in the area the night before, though it’s unclear whether that activity was related.

Liakos said she has contacted the property manager for more than a year about what she described as suspicious late‑night activity.

KRCB News has not verified those reports. The Lenox leasing office would not speak on the record about these complaints but did confirm that it was not an ICE related incident.

Rohnert Park Police say they are aware of the operation but not involved. Lieutenant Eric Matzen tells KRCB News:

"My name’s Lieutenant Eric Matzen with Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety. And the question was if ICE was in town this morning doing any kind of enforcement operations. And to our knowledge, no. We do know that the Department of Justice was on Enterprise Drive conducting some sort of investigation. But to our knowledge, it’s not ICE or any kind of immigration operation."

Matzen said ICE will sometimes notify the department if they’re in the area — and sometimes not — but in this instance he can confirm it was not ICE.
