The California secretary of state's office and the Sonoma County registrar of voters are continuing to count ballots and update tallies for the June 2 primary election.

But keep in mind, results are not expected to be decisive for a few more days. Ballot return rates were much lower in the days leading up to the election than in prior years. That means there are likely to many ballots left to count.

But according to the latest preliminary results, for federal and state district-wide races, Mike McGuire and James Gallagher are in the lead for the 1st district congressional seat.

Jared Huffman and Republican Robin Littau are now the front runners for the 2nd district congressional seat.

For the 4th congressional district, incumbent Mike Thompson and Republican Ray Riehle are in the lead.

Damon Connolly and Tief Gibbs are leading vote count for the 2nd district seat in the state Senate. In the race for the state Assembly, 2nd district seat, Chris Rogers has 65% of the vote to Michael Greer's 35%.

For the 12th district seat in the state assembly, Democrat Eric Lucan and Republican Eryn Cervantes are in the lead.

In Sonoma County for the 2nd district seat on the board of supervisors, Joanna Paul and Sylvia Lemus are the top top vote-getters, expected to move on to the November general election.

But for the 4th district seat, all three candidates are neck and neck...Todd Lands, Tom Schwedhelm and Melanie Bagby...it's too close to call.

Measure B, the SMART sales tax extension, is passing right now with 70 percent "yes" vote. Measure C, a parcel tax for Santa Rosa's Bellevue Union School district, has not reached the necessary 2/3 vote to pass. And lastly, Measure A, a bond for Sebastopol's Twin Hills Union School District, is passing.
